Traditionally international buyers have tended to focus their property search along Spain’s coastal areas. However, with more and more air routes to Spain, many regions have become much more accessible from the UK and other northern European countries.
Whilst the property market in Spain is recovering, there are still bargains to be had, particularly in some of the more rural areas.

Quintana Martín Galíndez, Burgos
This lovely one bedroom, one bathroom apartment is situated on the 3rd floor of this building. The building is relatively new, constructed in 2010 and is in wonderful condition. The apartment also comes with a separate storage room, where property owners often stores bikes, the apartment comes with built in wardrobes.
This property is a bargain, advertised at €26.800.
The apartment is located in the quaint town of Quintana Martín Galíndez, located between Burgos and Bilbao.
Fortunately, there are many flights from London airports directly to Bilbao. Not only is this apartment great value for money but it is only an hour and 20-minute drive from Bilbao Airport.
O Valadouro, Galicia
This three-bedroom property is distributed over an area of 75 m², with two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. The house has been well kept and also has a basement. The property also has a small garden area to the front. The property is on the market for €19.000.
This property is situated in the Galician town of O Valadouro, just an hour and a half by car to the nearest airport (Santiago de Compostela). Stansted and Heathrow both fly direct to Santiago de Compostela, making access easy from the UK.
Alternatively Asturias airport, known as Oviedo but closer to Aviles, is also around an hour and a half away. Flights are available from London Gatwick.
Yecla, Murcia
This 4 bedroom apartment is fantastic value for money. Measuring 95 m² and distributed over two floors, it contains 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, a nice kitchen and a small balcony. The property needs some refurbishment and is priced to reflect that.
The apartment is advertised at €22.400, which is an excellent price considering the amount of space and potential that the property has.
The property is located in the town of Yecla, in the region of Murcia, just under an hour away from both Alicante and Murcia airports. Both airports offer flights to many locations in the UK and northern Europe.
Orihuela, Alicante

Situated in the town of Jerez de la Frontera, the property is easily accesible, as there are direct flights to Sevilla airport from most London airports. Gibraltar airport is another option.
Almoines, Valencia

Located in a small town near Gandia, called Almoines, this quiet town is just a mere hour away from both Valencia and Alicante airports. There are daily flights from most UK airports including Gatwick, Luton, Stansted , Manchester & Glasgow.
Librilla, Murcia
This brand new two bedroom wooden chalet benefits from having a beautiful interior. All finishes are brand new, including a fantastic kitchen, living area and two double bedrooms. Although this property is a bit different, it has excellent facilities and would make a perfect holiday home.
Measuring 36 m² and priced at €18.000, it is great budget buy.
In terms of location, the property is situated in a small town called Librilla, just 25 minutes from Murcia city centre and a mere 30 from Murcia´s international airport, making it incredibly accessible.
There are regular flights from Stansted, Gatwick, Southend and Birmingham.
